Information You Provide
Search requests
When a visitor enters a name or location into a search tool, that query is sent to the independent provider that operates the tool. Hitchcock County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages sent to us
If you email us or use a contact submission, we keep the information supplied in the message so we can respond. We do not share that message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data and Cookies
Like most websites, the site and its service providers may receive routine technical details when a page loads, including:
- the IP address used to connect to the site;
- browser type and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when one is supplied; and
- access dates and timestamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools help us understand how visitors use the site. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings, but some features may work differently if cookies are disabled.
How We Use Information
- to operate, secure, and improve the site;
- to direct a search request to the applicable partner service;
- to identify which guides visitors find useful;
- to diagnose and correct technical problems; and
- to display advertising that may be based on general interests.
Links and Advertising Partners
The site links to official resources such as the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office, the Hitchcock County Court, and the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services inmate search, as well as third-party search tools. Once you follow a link, that organization’s privacy practices govern its site and services.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to collect activity across websites for interest-based advertising. Those systems are operated by the partners, not by this site.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Information may be received or handled by the following parties when necessary for the purposes described in this notice:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site performance;
- advertising networks that serve or measure ads; and
- law-enforcement agencies or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Practices
We use reasonable, standard safeguards intended to protect information under our control. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, so we cannot promise that a transmission or stored record will never be accessed, altered, or lost.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and is not designed for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your Choices About Personal Data
- ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate personal information;
- ask us to delete personal information, subject to legal or operational limits; and
- opt out of certain processing where that option applies.
